Friday went from 8th to 5th in heat, 7th to 2nd in "B" Main, and 17th to 8th in "A" Main. Saturday's feature was rained out and was run Sunday with Luke finishing fourth. Later on Sunday, Luke was unable to finish the main event and wound up 22nd.
Lucas picked up the win in the fourth race of the Arizona Mod Tour on Valentine's Day. A huge thank you to Mike Wedelstadt for letting me wheel his car, and congratulations to him on his 2nd place finish. Also, thanks to Beau Williams for all the help these two weeks!
From a lot of work on day one to winning the next race, Lucas made every feature of the Arizona Mod Tour without any provisionals and finished 3rd in overall points. We had a blast getting to meet new people. We can't thank Mike Wedelstadt enough for letting Luke be his hired gun and Beau Williams for all the help this week.
Luke kicked off the 2017 racing season at the Southern New Mexico Speedway in Las Cruces, N.M., for the inaugural Short Track Shootout. Driving a new USRA Modified for Sherman Barnett, Luke ended the weekend with three top-10 finishes including a sixth on Friday. Next up is the King of America VII, March 23-25, at the Humboldt Speedway where the team will break out the #69 MBCustom for the first time this year.
